Our Mission

Due to the freezing weather instead of just working with those who are Knox county residents who are ready to work towards employment and permanent housing, we are extending our house to all who need a warm place to sleep. We are open 6pm to 6am and have an agreement with another facility for during the day.

We will be open at night no matter what the weather is because we are committed to helping those in need and do not want anyone to freeze.

First City Sunrise along with community partners are creating an emergency temporary shelter in Vincennes Indiana for those who find themselves without a house.

We have a small facility in Vincennes that serves as an Emergency Temporary Shelter. This referral only location allows us to best serve our community and keep our clients safe. We are currently providing overnight shelter and case management services.

We are providing a hand up and our ultimate goal with each client is to work with the reasons why they ended up in their current position, help them get employment if possible and move out into their own permanent housing.

Currently we are 100% run by volunteers and funded by donations.
